AestheticA Skin Health Center and Dr. Richard Parfitt provide Sculptra® Aesthetic treatments at both locations in Wisconsin. Sculptra Aesthetic is a synthetic injectable product that restores and corrects the signs of facial fat loss by replacing lost volume.
HOW CAN SCULPTRA ENHANCE MY APPEARANCE?
Sculptra is an FDA approved treatment for skin creases, wrinkles, folds, scars and eye rings caused by lipoatrophy. Sculptra is composed of a material known as “poly-L-lactic acid.” Poly-L-lactic acid is biocompatible (a material that does not harm the body) and biodegradable (able to be broken down by the body). Poly-L-lactic acid has been widely used for many years in surgical products, such as dissolvable stitches, soft tissue implants and other types of implants.
Sculptra provides an increase in skin thickness, helping to create a more natural facial appearance in those with facial lipoatrophy (localized loss of fat tissue). Sculptra will not correct the underlying cause of the facial fat loss, but will help improve the appearance by increasing skin thickness in the treated areas.

THE SCULPTRA TREATMENT
Sculptra is injected below the surface of the skin in the area of fat loss, providing a gradual increase in skin thickness. The appropriate number of treatment sessions and the amount of Sculptra you will need will be determined at each session. Some clients may require 3 to 6 treatment sessions with visible results beginning to appear within the first few treatment sessions. Treatment results differ for each person, but most can benefit from the results for up to 2 years after the first treatment session. Sculptra is not a permanent filler, and many Appleton and Middleton patients return for touch-up treatments that may be needed to maintain the desired effect.

Your skin requires a tailored program of care to optimize its health and appearance. At your consultation, Dr. Parfitt will gather information from you and examine your skin to help you prioritize your concerns. He will help you achieve your best skin by preparing a treatment plan that ensures any skin treatments you choose are provided in a manner that is as effective and as safe as possible. Consultations can take place at either of our locations in Appleton or Middleton, Wisconsin.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT SCULPTRA:
When can I resume normal activities after my treatment?
No exercise, major manipulation of facial expressions, or makeup during the day of treatment is highly recommended. After 24 hours, you should be able to resume your normal activities.
When can I start to see results?
You may start to see results within 2-3 months of treatment.
Will I bruise post treatment?
You can reduce risks of bruising and swelling if Tylenol or Ibuprofen is stopped 72 hours prior to treatment. Bruising may vary and can last 3-10 days.
Is there a cost for a consultation?
To see Dr. Parfitt, the cost for your skin consultation is $125. This consultation fee is applied to your account to use towards products or treatments at either AestheticA Skin Health Center or Parfitt Facial Cosmetic Surgery Center. This one-time cost applies only to your initial consultation; therefore all future follow-up consultative appointments are free.
Are there any side effects with Sculptra products?
Side effects reported include injection site pain, redness, bruising, bleeding, or swelling. Small bumps under the skin that can sometimes be noticeable when pressing on the treated area may also occur. Larger lumps, with or without inflammation, have also been reported. Other side effects may include the delayed development of non-visible, small bumps under the skin sometimes noticeable when pressing on the treated area.
