After completing his Fellowship training in Beverly Hills, CA in 1996, Dr. Parfitt moved back to Wisconsin to open his private practice. He was the first doctor in the Madison-area to offer Botox® treatments for cosmetic purposes. BOTOX® Cosmetic is FDA approved to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines in adults.

The facial expressions we make on a daily basis eventually leave an impression of lines and wrinkles on our faces. Wrinkles between the brows, forehead creases and crow’s feet are signs of laughing, frowning, concentrating and squinting over the years. Botox relaxes muscles that dynamically produce creases and wrinkles. With the muscles at rest, the skin becomes smoother and, therefore, looks softer, relaxed and more youthful.
Both women and men can receive Botox injections. Botox is most commonly used to treat lines and wrinkles, but it is not for all types of wrinkles. During your consultation, Dr. Parfitt and his aesthetics team will guide you to the best treatment option for you. If you are concerned with one or more of these areas, Botox may be a treatment option for you.

Our team strives for a natural result, where you can experience the benefits of Botox without having a “frozen face”. The treatment is a simple and safe non-surgical procedure that can be performed in as little as ten minutes and requires no recovery time. With a few tiny injections, even your toughest wrinkle can be dramatically reduced within one to two weeks of receiving the treatment and results can last up to 4 months. This treatment is also beneficial for a younger adult woman or man who desires to prevent the formation of expression lines. It’s easy to see why Botox has repeatedly been the #1 cosmetic treatment performed since its FDA approval in 2002.
Botox is recommended for the treatment of Axillary Hyperhidrosis, or excessive underarm sweating. When small doses are injected into the skin, Botox blocks the actions of the nerves that supply the eccrine glands, this prevents the glands from producing sweat. The effects of treatment last for several months (4-6 months). Our Madison and Appleton patients repeat treatments to maintain results. If you feel you have hyperhidrosis, visit Allergan’s Botox site for a self-assessment.
Botox also is used for relief from migraine headaches. If you experience migraine headaches and are looking to Botox as a solution, please contact us online or call our offices to schedule an appointment with Dr. Parfitt.

Yes, Botox can be used as prevention for wrinkles.

Dr. Parfitt and his team will evaluate your entire facial anatomy, your aging features and all the possibilities for facial skin improvement. Combination treatments with Botox are quite common, including dermal fillers, skin peels, microdermabrasion and skin care products to enhance your treatment results.
Some patients feel that using Botox in combination with their dermal filler in some treatment areas, allows for the longest-lasting and best results. Why? Without Botox, the dynamic movement of the muscle in the dermal filler treatment area could cause the filler product to break down more quickly.
Allergan’s National Education Faculty (NEF) is an esteemed society of Botox providers who have been certified by Allergan not only in administering Botox treatments, but specifically certified by Allergan to train other physicians in the administration of Botox Cosmetic. Dr. Parfitt’s membership in the NEF assures you the highest level of skill and expertise in the administration of Botox injections by all members of our clinical staff.
The most common side effect from a Botox treatment is actually from the needle itself. As with all injections, there is a risk of bruising and redness. Other side effects include temporary headache, and some soreness or tenderness at the injection site. More severe side effects can include a rash or allergic reaction, and possibly some drooping of facial muscles near treated areas, usually as a result of “spreading”. For a full list of potential side effects, you should have a consultation and review an informed consent form.
To see one of our Medical Aesthetics Specialists, the cost for a skin consultation is $50. To see Dr. Parfitt, the cost for your skin consultation is $125. This consultation fee is applied to your account to use towards products or treatments at either AestheticA Skin Health Center or Parfitt Facial Cosmetic Surgery Center. This one-time cost applies only to your initial consultation; therefore all future follow-up consultative appointments, regardless of the provider seen, are free.
