WHAT IS SKINVIVE?
SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM® helps the skin retain its natural moisture and softness leading to an improvement in the skin smoothness of the cheeks. SKINVIVE is the first and only hyaluronic acid (HA) microdroplet injectable approved by the FDA to provide such improvement to cheek skin. SKINVIVE by Juvederm is available at both of our Wisconsin locations.

Your skin loses HA and overall smoothness as you age. If you’re interested in replenishing your HA levels, effectively hydrating and revitalizing your skin from within, SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM® may be right for you.
SKINVIVE is safe to use on all skin types and tones.
YOUR SKINVIVE TREATMENT
Your Skinvive treatment will take around 15 minutes and in office time may take 30 minutes. At each treatment, you will receive multiple small injections in each cheek. The exact number of injections varies slightly per client and will be determined by your specialist. Results last up to 6 months with optimal treatment.
YOUR CONSULTATION
Your skin requires a tailored program of care to optimize its health and appearance. At your consultation, Dr. Parfitt will gather information from you and examine your skin to help you prioritize your concerns. He will help you achieve your best skin by preparing a treatment plan that ensures any skin treatments you choose are provided in a manner that is as effective and as safe as possible. Consultations can take place at either of our locations in Appleton or Middleton, Wisconsin.

How long is the SKINVIVE appointment?
One treatment session typically lasts about 10–15 minutes, on average, but we will schedule you for a 30-minute appointment.

Is SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM® a filler?
Since SKINVIVE by Juvederm is hyaluronic acid, it is technically a filler. However, the modified hyaluronic acid in SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM® is designed to improve cheek smoothness and hydrate from within for smooth texture and a radiant glow—without changing your face shape or volume.

Is there a cost for a consultation?
The cost for a consultation with one of Medical Aesthetics Specialists is $50. To see Dr. Parfitt, a consultation is $125. This consultation fee is applied to your account to use towards products or treatment at either AestheticA Skin Health Center or Parfitt Facial Cosmetic Surgery Center. This one-time cost applies only to your initial consultation; therefore, all future follow-up consultative appointments, regardless of the provider seen, are free.

TREATMENT GUIDELINES
Pre Treatment
- Patients predisposed to developing cold sores should start on an antiviral medication such as Valtrex at least 2 days before A 7-day course of therapy is recommended (2 days prior and 5 days following treatment).
- Patients taking medications with anticoagulant effects, such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Aleve, and Celebrex or high doses of certain herbs such as gingko, vitamin E, garlic or ginseng may have an increased risk of bleeding or bruising. If possible, it is advised to discontinue these medications two weeks prior to treatment. If you can’t, the procedure can still be done, but with higher risk of bruising.
- Schedule all other spa or medical-grade facial treatments you are interested in receiving prior to your SKINVIVE™ appointment. If you are planning other procedures including laser treatments or a chemical peel, there is a possible risk of inflammation at the treatment site if these procedures are performed closely before or after SKINVIVE™ injectable gel treatment.
- Avoid rubbing and touching the area.
Post Treatment
- There may be slight to moderate swelling and redness in the injected area for 24-48 hours. Avoid massaging or applying pressure to the treated area, unless instructed to do so.
- Avoid applying products directly after treatment.
- Tylenol may be taken for any discomfort.
- Cool compresses may be applied gently for 5 minutes up to 4 times a day.
- For the first 24 hours:
- or for as long as bruising persists, avoid extensive sun or heat exposure
- avoid strenuous exercise and alcoholic beverages
- keep head elevated while sleeping
- Avoid receiving any other spa or medical-grade facial treatments for 4 weeks following treatment. If you are planning other procedures including laser treatments or a chemical peel, there is a possible risk of inflammation at the treatment site if these procedures are performed closely before or after SKINVIVE™ injectable gel treatment.
- There is a small potential for the injectable to not disperse evenly and form a small “nodule”. Typically, a nodule cannot be seen but you may be able to feel it. If this occurs and is bothersome, please call our office to schedule a follow-up appointment.The nodule may be a lingering bruise not requiring treatment; however, if a true nodule has formed we may be able to evenly disperse the product.
