Letybo Neuromodulator for Wrinkle Reduction in Middleton, WI

Letybo® is a neuromodulator injectable used to reduce the appearance of dynamic facial wrinkles by temporarily relaxing targeted facial muscles. Like other neuromodulators, Letybo helps soften lines caused by repeated facial expressions, allowing the skin to appear smoother and more refreshed.

Letybo treatments are offered at AestheticA Skin Health Center in Middleton and are performed by experienced aesthetic providers.

How Letybo Works

Letybo works by limiting muscle movement in areas where repeated facial expressions create visible lines and creases. When these muscles are relaxed, the overlying skin appears smoother while natural facial expression is maintained.

Areas Commonly Treated with Letybo

Letybo is commonly used to treat:

  • Frown lines between the eyebrows

  • Forehead lines

  • Crow’s feet

Your provider will determine whether Letybo is appropriate based on your concerns and facial anatomy.

Letybo Results

Results typically begin to appear within several days of treatment, with continued improvement over the following weeks. Individual results and longevity may vary.

Letybo vs. Other Neuromodulators

Letybo, Botox®, and Dysport® are all neuromodulators used to soften dynamic wrinkles. Each product works in a similar way, and the choice of product depends on treatment area, desired outcome, and provider recommendation. A consultation allows your provider to recommend the most appropriate neuromodulator for your goals.

Frequently Asked Questions About Letybo:

When Can I See The Results And How Long Will It Last?
You will begin to see the results within one to two weeks. As with Botox and Dysport, it takes about two weeks for Letybo to reach its peak effect. Results may last up to four months.

Can I Combine Letybo With Other Treatments?
Dr. Parfitt or one of our medical aesthetics specialists will first evaluate your facial anatomy, aging features and skin health. Combination therapy using Letybo, along with dermal fillers, skin peels, HydraFacial MD and skin care products can be quite common to provide optimal results.

How Much Letybo Will I Need?
Letybo is measured by the unit. The number of units necessary for optimal treatment varies, both by the individual and the area(s) treated. Men usually require a few more units than women to achieve the same effect.

What Is The Recovery Time For Letybo?
Although you may notice a small bump in the skin and some redness at the site of the injection for up to 30 minutes, most people return to social or work activities immediately following treatment with Letybo

You need to avoid pushing on or rubbing the treatment area, as well as reclining or laying down flat for approximately four hours post procedure.  During this same time frame, we encourage you to exercise the muscles treated as much as possible.

What Are The Risks With Letybo?
As with all injections, there is a risk of bruising and redness caused by the needle used to inject the product. Other side effects include temporary headache and tenderness at the injection site. More severe side effects can include a rash or allergic reaction. There is also a risk of eyelid ptosis (drooping of facial muscles near the treatment area), which is a result of the migration of the product. Following post-treatment instructions will minimize this risk. For a full list of potential side effects, you should have a consultation and review an informed consent form.

Is there a cost for a consultation?

To see one of our Medical Aesthetics Specialists, the cost for a skin consultation is $50. To see Dr. Parfitt, the cost for your skin consultation is $125. This consultation fee is applied to your account to use towards products or treatments at either AestheticA Skin Health Center or Parfitt Facial Cosmetic Surgery Center. This one-time cost applies only to your initial consultation; therefore all future follow-up consultative appointments, regardless of the provider seen, are free.

Treatment Guidelines

Pre Treatment

  • To avoid bruising it is best not to take any medications that cause blood thinning, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, Advil, Motrin, or Vitamin E for 2 days prior and 2 days after treatment.

  • Do not use Letybo if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, are allergic to any of its ingredients, or suffer from any neurological disorders. Please inform your clinician if you have any questions about this prior to the procedure.

  • Sunburned skin is difficult to treat so avoid exposure to the sun.

  • Avoid waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or the use of hair removal cream on the area to be treated for 3 days prior to treatment.

  • Inform your clinician if you have a history of Perioral Herpes to receive advice on antiviral therapy prior to treatment.

  • Always inform your clinician of all medications you may be taking as well as your medical history.

Post Treatment

  • You may have bruises in the areas treated with any of the following neurotoxin: Botox, Dysport or Letybo. This is normal.

  • It will take up to two weeks for you to experience the full effect of the Letybo treatment. Remain patient. It takes time for the muscles to lose strength and the lines to fade following treatments with BOTOX, Dysport or Letybo.

  • It is best to try to exercise your treated muscles for 1-2 hours after treatment (e.g. practice frowning, raising your eyebrows, or squinting). This helps to work Letybo, BOTOX Cosmetic, or Dysport into your muscles. Although thought to help, it will NOT impact your treatment negatively if you forget to do this.

  • Do NOT rub, massage or apply excessive pressure to the treated areas for 4 hours after your treatment. Do NOT practice Yoga or any type of strenuous exercise for 4 hours after treatment. Also, avoid facials or saunas for 4 hours after your treatment. This will minimize the risk of raising your blood pressure and therefore minimize the risk of temporary bruising. Feel free to shower and go about most other regular daily activities.

  • Do NOT lie down for 4 hours after treatment. This is to avoid the risk of pressure on the treated areas (from your pillow) and to avoid the risk of having the area rubbed accidentally.

  • Be assured that any tiny bumps or marks will go away within a few minutes to an hour. If you need to apply make-up within 4 hours after your treatment, only use a GENTLE touch to avoid rubbing the treated area.

Letybo is a temporary procedure and at first, you may find that your treatment results will last approximately 3 or 4 months. If you maintain your treatment appointments with the frequency recommended by your doctor, the duration of each treatment result may last longer than 4 months.
