YOUR JEUVEAU TREATMENT
Jeuveau™ is a prescription medicine that is injected into the muscles that cause moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines). Our team of master injectors strives to provide treatments that produce natural-looking results, as opposed to a “frozen face”. This treatment can be performed in as little as ten minutes. This safe non-surgical procedure requires no recovery time. The appearance of even your deepest wrinkle can be significantly reduced within one to two weeks of receiving the Jeuveau treatment, with results lasting up to four months. Jeuveau may also be used in young adult women or men interested in wrinkle prevention.

Your skin requires a tailored program of care to optimize its health and appearance. At your consultation, one of our Medical Aesthetics Specialists will gather information from you about your skin concerns, examine your skin and explain what they discover. They will help you prioritize and achieve your best skin by preparing a treatment plan that ensures any skin treatments you choose are provided in a manner that is as effective and as safe as possible. Our Medical Aesthetics Specialists have trained under Double-Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Richard Parfitt. If you are a new client of AestheticA Skin Health Center and are interested in a specific treatment, time may be allotted for the consultation and treatment to be completed in one appointment. If you are a previous client of AestheticA, but have not been seen by our clinic within a year, a brief follow-up will be included in your appointment to discuss your previous treatment(s) or any new skin concerns you may have.
FAQs ABOUT JEUVEAU:
WHEN CAN I SEE THE RESULTS AND HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?
You will begin to see the results within one to two weeks. As with Botox and Dysport, it takes about two weeks for Jeuveau to reach its peak effect. Results may last up to four months.
CAN I COMBINE JEUVEAU WITH OTHER TREATMENTS?
Dr. Parfitt or one of our medical aesthetics specialists will first evaluate your facial anatomy, aging features and skin health. Combination therapy using Jeuveau, along with dermal fillers, skin peels, HydraFacial MD and skin care products can be quite common to provide optimal results.
HOW MUCH JEUVEAU WILL I NEED?
Jeuveau is measured by the unit. The number of units necessary for optimal treatment varies, both by the individual and the area(s) treated. Men usually require a few more units than women to achieve the same effect.
WHAT IS THE RECOVERY TIME FOR JEUVEAU?
Although you may notice a small “bump” in the skin and some redness at the site of the injection for up to 30 minutes, most people return to social or work activities immediately following treatment with Jeuveau.
You need to avoid pushing on or rubbing the treatment area, as well as reclining or laying down flat for approximately four hours post procedure. During this same time frame, we encourage you to exercise the muscles treated as much as possible.
WHAT ARE THE RISKS WITH JEUVEAU?
As with all injections, there is a risk of bruising and redness caused by the needle used to inject the product. Other side effects include temporary headache and tenderness at the injection site. More severe side effects can include a rash or allergic reaction. There is also a risk of eyelid ptosis (drooping of facial muscles near the treatment area), which is a result of the migration of the product. Following post-treatment instructions will minimize this risk. For a full list of potential side effects, you should have a consultation and review an informed consent form.

TREATMENT GUIDELINES
PRE TREATMENT
- To avoid bruising it is best not to take any medications that cause blood thinning, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, Advil, Motrin, or Vitamin E for 2 days prior and 2 days after treatment.
- Do not use Jeuveau if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, are allergic to any of its ingredients, or suffer from any neurological disorders. Please inform your clinician if you have any questions about this prior to the procedure.
- Sunburned skin is difficult to treat so avoid exposure to the sun.
- Avoid waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or the use of hair removal cream on the area to be treated for 3 days prior to treatment.
- Inform your clinician if you have a history of Perioral Herpes to receive advice on antiviral therapy prior to treatment.
- Always inform your clinician of all medications you may be taking as well as your medical history.
POST TREATMENT
- You may have bruises in the areas treated with any of the following neurotoxin: Botox, Dysport or Jeuveau. This is normal.
- It will take up to two weeks for you to experience the full effect of the Jeuveau treatment. Remain patient. It takes time for the muscles to lose strength and the lines to fade following treatments with BOTOX, Dysport or Jeuveau.
- It is best to try to exercise your treated muscles for 1-2 hours after treatment (e.g. practice frowning, raising your eyebrows, or squinting). This helps to work Jeuveau, BOTOX Cosmetic, or Dysport into your muscles. Although thought to help, it will NOT impact your treatment negatively if you forget to do this.
- Do NOT rub, massage or apply excessive pressure to the treated areas for 4 hours after your treatment. Do NOT practice Yoga or any type of strenuous exercise for 4 hours after treatment. Also, avoid facials or saunas for 4 hours after your treatment. This will minimize the risk of raising your blood pressure and therefore minimize the risk of temporary bruising. Feel free to shower and go about most other regular daily activities.
- Do NOT lie down for 4 hours after treatment. This is to avoid the risk of pressure on the treated areas (from your pillow) and to avoid the risk of having the area rubbed accidentally.
- Be assured that any tiny bumps or marks will go away within a few minutes to an hour. If you need to apply make-up within 4 hours after your treatment, only use a GENTLE touch to avoid rubbing the treated area.
Jeuveau is a temporary procedure and at first, you may find that your treatment results will last approximately 3 or 4 months. If you maintain your treatment appointments with the frequency recommended by your doctor, the duration of each treatment result may last longer than 4 months.
