Microdermabrasion treatments create an immediate improvement in your skin’s appearance – you will enjoy softer, brighter and cleaner skin after your first treatment! Microdermabrasion treatments have been popular at AestheticA Skin Health Center since we first began offering the treatment in 1999. There is no “down time” following the treatment and you’re able to go about your daily routine immediately after your treatment. Microdermabrasion is the perfect treatment to receive during your lunch break.
MICRODERMABRASION TREATMENT
This non-invasive procedure employs a handpiece that delivers fine crystals over the skin at a high rate of speed, resulting in a precise removal of the top dead layer of skin. Treatments are relatively gentle, yet they effectively stimulate collagen production and reduce the appearance of superficial scarring, hyperpigmentation (sun or age spots) and fine lines. It also works to deep clean pores, temporarily reducing the appearance of enlarged pores. The results of this treatment can be further enhanced by receiving a 15% Trichloracetic Acid Peel (TCA) immediately after the Microdermabrasion.

Your skin requires a tailored program of care to optimize its health and appearance. At your consultation, one of our Medical Aesthetics Specialists will gather information from you about your skin concerns, examine your skin and explain what they discover. They will help you prioritize and achieve your best skin by preparing a treatment plan that ensures any skin treatments you choose are provided in a manner that is as effective and as safe as possible. Our Medical Aesthetics Specialists have trained under Double-Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Richard Parfitt. Their extensive knowledge of non-surgical procedures, skin care and skin rejuvenation treatments ensures they are skilled skin-care specialists in your chosen treatment. Consultations can take place at either of our locations in Appleton, WI or Middleton, WI.
If you are a new client of AestheticA Skin Health Center and are interested in a specific treatment, time may be allotted for the consultation and treatment to be completed in one appointment. If you are a previous client of AestheticA, but have not been seen by our clinic within a year, a brief follow-up from your last treatment will be scheduled to discuss your previous treatment, or any new skin concerns in addition to your scheduled treatment.
FAQs ON MICRODERMABRASION:
When can I resume normal activities after my treatment?
No exercise, or makeup during the day of treatment is highly recommended. After 24 hours, you should be able to resume your normal activities.
Is a microdermabrasion painful?
There is no pain associated with a microdermabrasion. It is a relaxing treatment.
How long is the microdermabrasion treatment?
The average treatment is 30-45 minutes.
Can I combine skin care products and microdermabrasion?
Yes, topical skin care is highly recommended to enhance your treatment results and to improve the overall health and appearance of your skin. One of our Medical Aesthetics Specialists will discuss the use of products throughout the course of these treatments.
Is there a cost for a consultation?
To see one of our Medical Aesthetics Specialists, the cost for a skin consultation is $50. To see Dr. Parfitt, the cost for your skin consultation is $125. This consultation fee is applied to your account to use towards products or treatments at either AestheticA Skin Health Center or Parfitt Facial Cosmetic Surgery Center. This one-time cost applies only to your initial consultation; therefore all future follow-up consultative appointments, regardless of the provider seen, are free.

TREATMENT GUIDELINES
PRE & POST TREATMENT
- Do not wear contact lenses to treatment sessions. They can be placed in after treatment.
- Refrain from using Retin-A (tretinoin), Glycolics, AHAs and any retinol products 48 hours before and after treatment.
- If you have a history of herpes simplex virus (cold sores or fever blisters), please inform Dr. Parfitt and/or staff so that an anti-viral medication can be prescribed.
- No tanning beds should be used for 2 weeks post treatment.
- Sunscreen of at least SPF 15 should be applied immediately following treatment; and prior to and during sun exposure for the week after treatment.
- Treated area should be kept clean and well moisturized.
